A hybrid solar solution combines a solar inverter and a battery inverter into a single piece of equipment.ย  This allows the intelligent management of power from solar panels, solar batteries, and the utility grid.

Our modular systems allow you to start with a single inverter and Li-Ion battery.ย  This enables you to run important devices like lights, computers, TV, and Wifi for many hours during load-shedding.ย  Over time you then have the option to add additional inverters, batteries, and solar panels to eventually increase your available power, your solar capacity, and your battery life.ย  For very large installations you can link up to 9 inverters in tandem to provide up to 50kVA.

– During normal hours the grid power & solar panels are used to charge your batteries and to power your equipment.
– During load-shedding in the day, the power from solar panels is used to charge your batteries and run your equipment.
– During load-shedding at night, the batteries are used to power your equipment.

Hybrid Inverter System with Plug & Play Solar Panels

Mecer has just launched their brand new Lithium Inverter Trolleys.

The new Mecer Lithium Inverter Trolleys offer more hours of power during load-shedding at a lower price than the older Mecer Lead-acid Inverter Trolleys. This is a massive improvement to their already popular lead-acid inverter trolleys!

The White Mecer 1000VA Lithium Inverter Trolley and the Blue Mecer 2000VA Lithium Inverter Trolley can be seen below.

With Stage 6 load-shedding, lead-acid batteries normally have a life span of a few months while Lithium batteries will last up to 5 years. Another advantage of Lithium Batteries is that they can be regularly discharged down to 10-20% without causing them any harm. Lead-acid Batteries on the other hand should always stay at least 70% full to avoid damaging them. The lead-acid inverter will automatically switch off as soon as 30% of the battery has been used to protect the batteries.

2 laptops, 2 large monitors or TVs, a Wi-Fi router, and a couple of LED lights will normally draw under 200W. As an example, we compare the new Mecer Lithium Models with the older Mecer Lead-acid Models below:

  • The older 1200VA Lead-acid Inverter has a storage capacity of 1200Wh where 360Wh (30%) can be safely used. With a 200W load, this gives you about 1.8 hours of usage.
  • The new 1000VA Lithium Inverter has a storage capacity of 1280Wh where 1024Wh (80%) can be safely used. With a 200W load, this gives you about 5.12 hours of usage.
  • The older 2400VA Lead-acid Inverter has a storage capacity of 2400Wh where 720Wh (30%) can be safely used. With a 200W load, this gives you about 3.6 hours of usage.
  • The new 2000VA Lithium Inverter has a storage capacity of 2560Wh where 2048Wh (80%) can be safely used. With a 200W load, this gives you about 12.8 hours of usage.

In summary, the new Lithium Inverters from Mecer will protect you from load-shedding for more hours at a lower cost and they last for many years.
