The Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) must be appropriately sized for both the generator set and the main incoming amperage. This ensures that the ATS box can effectively handle live incoming mains power. Incorrect sizing can lead to overheating and malfunctioning of the ATS. Therefore, it is advisable to have a professional determine the appropriate size considering the mains incoming power and the generator output during operation.
For the automatic changeover switch to function, the key on the generator must be in the “On” position.
Our Automatic Transfer Switches are specifically designed for use with our generators. As control systems may differ among generators, it is not recommended to use a Bundu Power ATS with a different brand of generator.
Our motorised switches can be manually operated. By selecting the manual switch and using the provided handle, you can switch from mains to generator power.
Our ATS boxes are rated IP54 and should be placed under cover to shield them from heavy rain.
Surge protection should always be installed on the mains incoming into the ATS to safeguard the ATS switch, generator, and household from power surges.
Fluctuations in voltage on the mains incoming can cause the ATS switch to malfunction, leading to the generator starting and stopping on its own. The generator operates within specific voltage and frequency parameters, and if these are exceeded, the generator will start or stop despite the presence of power.
