The Proximity Marine Readers are RFID devices that provide the convenience of contactless authentication for system users. They are compatible with both Switch2 and Net2 systems. The reader should be connected according to the wiring instructions indicated on the control unit label. To read a token, simply hold it in close proximity to the reader. Once a token has been read, the control unit checks the access permissions of the user associated with that token. Subsequently, the control unit verifies the information and either grants or denies access accordingly.
By default, all readers emit a soft blue glow. Access granted is indicated by the reader flashing green, while access denied is indicated by the reader flashing red. In both cases, an audible tone accompanies the visual indication.
