The proximity long-range readers are RFID devices that provide the convenience of contactless authentication for system users. They are compatible for use with both Switch2 and Net2 systems. The reader is connected according to the wiring diagram indicated on the control unit label.
A token is scanned by bringing it close to the reader. Once a token is scanned, the control unit checks the access permissions of the user associated with that token. The control unit then verifies the information and either grants or denies access accordingly.
By default, all the LEDs on the reader are red. If access is granted, the reader flashes green, accompanied by an audible tone. Conversely, if access is denied, the reader flashes red, also accompanied by an audible tone.
